Originally derived from sugar cane, glycolic acid is one of the most commonly-used and effective alpha-hydroxy acids in skincare. This ingredient was first coined by a French chemist in 1848 and has since become a key ingredient in cosmetic products formulated for acne, anti-aging, enlarged pores, and hyperpigmentation. Glycolic acid helps gently exfoliate the skin to reveal a smoother, softer, clearer, and healthier-looking complexion.

This shrub’s seed is used to produce a natural oil that, when applied topically, can help your skin retain moisture and leave it feeling soft, comforted, and nourished.
